Okay. We have a (very) limited run of shirts ready to go. They only come in this color, we have sizes S to XL. Not shipping outside the USA for now.
These are 100% cotton.
Because we make bespoke items specifically for boats and not clothing, this is a bit new for us so it’s going to be first come first served. If it goes well we will be making more and will offer more designs. This is original artwork, not AI slop, and I have the vellum to prove it.
Email me tom@traditionalrigging dot com with size(s) and an address and I’ll get back to you with a payment link. Yes there are better ways to do this but this was my idea and now I’m dealing with it best I can so cut me some slack. I’m from the 20th century.
Again, sizes and quantities are limited and first come, first served. $26 ea plus postage.

From the latest Sea History, “A note on sails: Every vessel pictured on this page-and at least nine others that participated in Sail 250—carried sails made by Dayle Tognoni Ward of Traditional Rigging Company in Appleton, Maine…..In addition, the rig aboard the 1894 schooner Ernestina-Morrissey was built by her husband, Tom Ward, the other half of Traditional Rigging, who recently oversaw the re-rigging of USS Constellation in Baltimore. The continued operation of these ships depends on preserving the traditional skills needed to maintain them-from shipbuilding, sailmaking, rigging, and ropemaking to the seamanship of the crews who sail them.” Tom and I are proud stewards of these skills. Please continue to support your INDEPENDENT small businesses/crafts people.

A suit for a Herreshoff Watch Hill headed out the door. This design is from the 1920’s. We employ the same construction techniques, taking care to match that era’s style in the sail number, too!

15 years ago Tom (mostly Tom) and I and our community built our shop. Our kids were 2 and 4 and we had no employment that summer and fall. No bank would lend us money but a chance meeting with a neighbor resulted in a loan. Neighbors showed up with tools we needed without asking. Tom built the walls and cut out the rafters, and our friends came over to help put them up and share lunch or dinner with us. We could not have done it without our awesome community of sailors and their families. ❤️
