I did my best to keep up with the snow for everyone but I had to call it for safety reasons. As soon as things let up enough for me to get back out safely I'll do my best to get around to everyone as soon as I possibly can.
Thank you for understanding!

I know I haven't been posting a lot this year, but rest assured I've been busy! I fought through a couple set backs earlier in the season but things came together and got back on track. Since I haven't posted much I thought I'd share my most recent project with you all!

It's been a while since I last posted but I've had a few things to help keep me busy these last couple of months.
Aside from snow removal, I built a half wall for one client, did a few painting jobs, installed a new ceiling fan and a couple of garbage disposals for some other clients. I also put some finishing touches on a room for another client where I installed new trim, installed some foam flooring mats and touched up some plaster and paint as well.
Now looking forward to spring I'm also going to be building and selling these flower boxes!
The larger one has an outside diameter of 3 1/2 feet with the towers being 1 foot, 2 feet, 3 feet and 4 feet tall respectively.
The smaller one has an outside diameter of 2 1/2 feet with the towers being 1 1/2 feet, 2 feet, 2 1/2 feet and 3 feet tall respectively.
I'll be selling the larger for 225$ and the smaller one for 175$ each.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact me either on messenger or at 920-428-0498.
Thank you!

When I first decided to take on this new venture, I obviously had no idea how it would go. Needless to say this first year exceeded my expectations! While I didn't go into this to fail, there were of course a great many unknowns and risks. There was definitely a learning curve on some things and though there were a few times I struggled, I didn't let those struggles deter me and I took every struggle and learning curve as a lesson to learn and applied those things. While I have to give myself a certain amount of credit because I put in a lot of hours, a lot of work and pushed myself out of my comfort zone in many cases, I know that regardless of how much effort I put into it, I couldn't have done it alone and without a lot of support. While there are far too many people to thank individually, there are a handful of people I want to acknowledge.
First and foremost, my wife Melissa Cone deserves an enormous amount of credit. When we first started talking about me starting this business, she was always honest about concerns but never once wavered in her support because she understood why this was so important to me and why I needed to do it. There were long days on jobsites and a lot of evenings where I had to run around and meet with clients after she got home from work, and while she would've had every right to, she never complained about it. There were even insights she gave me as a small business owner herself that I wouldn't have thought of otherwise and needless to say, I 100% could not have pulled this off without her and her support has made me appreciate her more than ever.
The next two are Karen Davis and Lori Locy, owners of The Plant Place in Appleton. Not only have they hired me multiple times at their own home, they've done everything they could to help me get my name out there and their insights and experience have been invaluable. They were even willing to give me a business discount on plants when I had no idea what I could promise for volume at a time when I didn't have any other business discounts available to me, for no other reason to help me get started. They went out of their way to support me when they had no reason to, took a chance on a complete stranger, and I'm incredibly grateful for having met them, not only for the things they've done to help me, but because they are genuinely great people.
I want to give another thank you to Brittany Gerhardt who gave me first completed job at her business Bark at the Moon dog grooming.
The next one along those lines is a thank you to Tom Plank and Mary Prestil Plank for giving me one of the first big jobs I did. Both of those jobs were milestones for me and helped me feel ever more confident that I was doing the right thing, and that I was capable of making it a success.
As I said at the start of this post there are far too many people to thank all of you individually but to all of those who have supported me along the way, I can't fully express my gratitude. Whether it be having hired me for work, recommending me to others or even something as simple as sharing a Facebook post, you have all helped to greater or lesser degrees and no matter how small a gesture it may seem, I want you all to know that those gestures have meant the world to me.
On behalf of myself and my family, Thank You, each and every one of you.
I hope you all have a had a great Christmas and holiday season full of love and happiness and a have a safe and happy new years! I look forward to what this next year may bring and hope you all can look forward to what your futures hold 😊

Well..... I guess I did another thing!
My truck has served me well this far but using a half ton pickup for this type of work does have it limits. Upgrading to a one ton truck will allow me to not only pull more but having a dump box as well will help me be way more efficient. The biggest draw back to my business model of doing everything solo means doing all my own logistics so I'm going to be able to reduce the amount of time I spend running to get product (and also reduce my overall fuel consumption).
There were a couple other driving factors behind the decision to make this investment this year instead of waiting until next year like I had originally planned. One is the fact that I have been averaging 500+ miles a week and that adds up fast. The other one is that no matter how careful you are, work trucks get beat up, and given that my truck was my mom's, I want it to last as long as I possibly can and putting excess miles on it and beating it up isn't a good way to ensure it's longevity.
I stumbled across this truck on marketplace and it was previously owned by a guy who, like me, has his own little one man show lawn care and landscaping business. He recently bought a new one and didn't need this one anymore. For it's age it's in great shape and has been as well taken care of as one could hope for and the price was more than reasonable.
My lovely wife has chosen his name, so I'd like you all to meet the newest addition to DC Lawn Care and Service, his name is Rubble! 😅

The customer on this one wanted to make it easier to mow their yard because going around all those trees was obviously time consuming. So after tearing out a bunch of sod and a whole lot of mulch, they have a nicely mulched tree bed that's much easier to mow. 😀
