3 Things Appleton Residents Can Do To Upgrade Your Landscape On A Budget

The financial climate is changing by the day. Politics are getting heated. And while that's happening, the climate in your yard is warming up, too. The snow's melted, buds are breaking, and your yard is overdue for makeover.

But it may not make sense for you to make that big investment in an outdoor space right now. That doesn't mean you can't have a nice backyard space this year, while you wait out the uncertainties of 2025. To help out, here are our 3 top bang-for-your-buck things we can do to upgrade your yard on a budget in 2025:

3 Have your trees and shrubs pruned. So often we'll see mature shrubs that are getting a little leggy, maybe a few dead stems, and you might think that's the end for that plant - time to pull and replant. When really, many times a good, strategic pruning to remove dead wood and stimulate new growth is all that's needed to revitalize your landscape. Big impact on a budget. We've been been trimming and pruning landscapes across Appleton, Neenah and the rest of the Fox Cities for over 2 decades, we'd be happy to work on yours, too!

2 Mulch topdressing of your landscape beds (with weeds sprayed the day before). This is one that many homeowners tackle themselves - the mulch is light and can usually be spread in a weekend. Helps keep the weeds at bay and provides nice contrast to show off the plantings in your landscape beds. But as the kids get involved with Spring sports and you just don't have the time? 1 Have your patio cleaned and sealed. If your patio is anywhere from a few years old to over 20, it could probably benefit from a cleaning and sealing. With a washing with paver-specific cleaners, we can take mossy, dark or worn pavers and freshen them up to look near new. A fresh coat of sealant will bring out the colors in your pavers, provide a wear layer to protect the pavers from foot traffic and UV rays, and can help firm up the sand between the paver seams.

One of the more unique, fun things we do when installing brick paver patios in and around the Appleton, Wisconsin area is inlays. Whether it's a same-paver inlay to visually break up a large space, or different color bricks or even natural stone to define different outdoor spaces, inlays can add a lot of beauty to a brick paver project.

Paver manufacturers in Wisconsin have caught on, offering same-thickness pavers across different families of pavers to allow for some really eye-catching paver patios.

To our neighbors, the families of the Fox Cities and surrounding communities,

Following the recommendations of the CDC and Governor Evers regarding the spread of the COVID-19 virus, Stonehenge Brick Paving & Landscaping will be temporarily halting in-person meetings and site visits until April 12th. On April 12th we'll determine if the stoppage should be lifted or extended.

We really want to get outside! We'd love to see our old clients again and meet new ones. But we also don't want to put any family members in jeopardy of becoming ill, and family is everything.

In the meantime, we'd love to talk by phone or email about projects you'd like to tackle this year. We may even be able to get your design started while we wait for the coast to clear.
