Does your chimney crown have the right overhang?

A properly built top wash/crown with a 2-inch overhang helps push water away from the brick instead of letting it run down the chimney.

Warning signs to watch for:
✅ Dark staining on the brick
✅ Moss, algae, or organic growth
✅ Cracks in the crown/top wash
✅ Loose or deteriorating mortar joints
✅ Water damage near the top of the chimney
