🛑 Not Every “Bed Bug” Is a Bed Bug 🛑
We get this call all the time.
Someone finds a small bug or shed skin and immediately thinks bed bugs 😬
But in many cases, it’s actually carpet beetle larvae — and the difference matters.
🔍 Here’s how people get them confused:
• Both are small
• Both can be found near beds, carpets, or furniture
• Both can leave behind shed skins
🚨 The BIG differences:
🐛 Carpet Beetle Larvae
✔️ Fuzzy or bristly
✔️ Worm-like and tapered
✔️ Feed on fabrics, lint, pet hair
✔️ Do not bite
🛏️ Bed Bugs
✔️ Flat, oval, smooth body
✔️ Reddish-brown color
✔️ Hide in seams, cracks, and mattresses
✔️ Feed on blood and bite humans
⚠️ Misidentifying pests can lead to:
• Unnecessary stress
• Wasted money on the wrong treatment
• The real problem getting worse
👊 That’s why we always recommend a proper inspection before assuming the worst.
If you’re unsure what you’re dealing with, let a professional identify it before panic sets in.
