A must read for anyone who complains of the price but you’re fixed or even diagnosed.

A massive, high-value ship Navy ship had a critical engine failure. None of the on-board engineers or contracted "professionals" could fix it, and the ship was losing money every day it sat idle.

Finally, they hired an old man who had been fixing ships since he was young. He arrived with a small bag of tools, inspected the engine carefully for a few moments, and then reached into his bag and pulled out a small hammer. He tapped a specific spot on the engine once. Instantly, the engine roared to life and was perfectly functional.

A week later, the ship owners received an invoice for $10,000.
The owners were furious, arguing that the man had only been there for minutes and only tapped a part. They demanded an itemized invoice.

The old man sent back an itemized bill that read:
Tapping with a hammer: $2.00
Knowing where to tap: $9,998.00
The moral is that you are paying for the years of knowledge and expertise, not just the fleeting moments it takes to apply that knowledge.
