Keep your chemicals simple and only get what you really need. You really just need to keep your chlorine, ph, and alkalinity on the regular. Hardness and cya should be adjusted once a year if needed. So remember, concentrate on your chlorine, ph, and alkalinity. 3 things. That’s it! Don’t be adding anything else in your pool.
Keep it simple and inexpensive. To raise ph all you need is borax very cheap in the supermarket. To raise alkalinity, all you need is baking soda. These are very inexpensive. To lower both ph and alkalinity, use muriatic acid.

To further illustrate my point from my previous post, I would like to highlight a company that unnecessarily complicates the process. Now, let us compare their services and tax charges to my own services, which are exempt from tax. Them on the left me on the right.

I’ve been checking out what some of the big pool companies are offering, and honestly, they keep making pool service more complicated than it needs to be.
Take chemical-only service for example. I offer one simple chemical service plan. Some companies have taken that same service and split it into multiple plans. Why? It doesn't make the water any cleaner. It just makes the pricing more confusing.
At Semler Pool Chems and Service, we keep things simple:
✅ Straightforward service plans
✅ No tax
✅ No overages
✅ Detailed email report after every visit
✅ Photos included with every service report
✅ ETA notification before we arrive
✅ Honest communication and professional service
Our job is simple: protect your investment and keep your pool swim-ready.
STOP THE BS AND SIGN UP TODAY.

A blinking "Inspect Cell" light typically indicates that the salt system requires inspection of the salt cell to identify a potential issue. On various systems, particularly Hayward AquaRite units, this light can signify:
1. The cell necessitates inspection and possible cleaning due to calcium scale buildup.
2. The cell is not producing chlorine properly.
3.The salt cell may be nearing the end of its lifespan.
4. The system has reached its maintenance reminder interval and is prompting an inspection.

If you have a Hayward AquaRite, the "Inspect Cell" light often illuminates after approximately 500 hours of operation as a reminder. After inspecting and cleaning the cell if necessary, the reminder can be reset.

Semler Pool Chems and Service recently completed a successful rescue operation in Burleson, Texas, involving a saltwater pool. Maintaining water circulation for a minimum of 4 hours daily is crucial. The issue with this pool was that the pump was set to low speed and only ran for 2 hours at night. Salt level was low to zero reading and zero chlorine was detected upon arrival. The problem was resolved and the pool was safe for use today for the first time since last year. The homeowners had previously struggled to find a reliable and trustworthy pool service provider that offered a straightforward approach.
