How to prep your plumbing for the holiday season.
The holidays can kick your home's plumbing into high gear with increased hosting, cleaning and cooking. Here are a few tips that may help you avoid a holiday headache with your plumbing system:
- Avoid garbage disposal issues by using the trashcan as much as possible when prepping your holiday feast. Also run the disposal occasionally as you work rather than waiting for it to be too full before turning it on.
- Flush only toilet paper to avoid clogs. Flushing materials that shouldn't be flushed can end up clogging your drains.
Fixing any existing plumbing issues. If you notice a leaking pipe, a slow drain or garbage disposal problems be sure to address them well before guest arrive.
