Graham Associates began with expertise in roadway and transportation design. As that expertise grew, the same team continued to design and build camaraderie together.

Over the next 50 years, Graham Associates helped shape projects across North Texas — from AT&T Stadium and the former Globe Life Park in Arlington to River Legacy Parks, Viridian Master-Planned Community, Southlake Town Square, Nebraska Furniture Mart, and the National Medal of Honor Museum.

But the biggest thing Graham built over those years was not roads or stadiums.
It was trust.

Chapter One: Where the Story Began

Long ago in North Texas, there was an engineering and surveying department of a large corporation helping communities grow behind the scenes.

The team was part of the Great Southwest Corporation — the same visionaries who helped bring Six Flags Over Texas and General Motors to life. But over time, the team realized they wanted to do even more.

So in 1972, they set out on a journey of their own. That journey became Graham Associates.

What began as a department of an 8,000-acre industrial park grew into decades of trusted relationships, practical problem-solving, and helping shape communities across North Texas. One road, one residential community, one commercial site, one partnership at a time, the story continued to grow.

And this was only the beginning…

Before any plans are drawn, civil engineers spend time understanding what a site can realistically support. Existing conditions, access, drainage patterns, and how the property connects to surrounding infrastructure all influence what makes sense and what does not. This early evaluation often shapes the entire direction of a project and is a fundamental part of Graham Associates' approach to planning and design.

When people think about city streets, they typically imagine daily commutes and everyday access. This Spring, parts of Arlington’s street network will also serve as the course for the INDYCAR Grand Prix, which brings a very different set of demands to infrastructure that already works hard year-round.

Helping streets safely support both everyday use and special events is the kind of civil engineering challenge Graham Associates has worked on throughout Arlington’s Entertainment District.

Our annual Chili Cook-Off heated up the office, and the competition was as fierce as a site inspection. 🔥🌶️
From "Rebar Red" to "Foundation Fixin's," our engineers traded blueprints for beans to vie for the coveted Golden Ladle. After a rigorous round of "stress tests" (tasting), we have our champions!

Graham Associates had the privilege of contributing to this project from a civil engineering perspective, supporting the infrastructure and site development that helped bring this vision to life. What began as a bold idea has become a powerful destination in Arlington.

This museum is more than a building. It is a place where stories of service, leadership, and sacrifice are shared in a way that leaves a lasting impression on every visitor.
