This is truly the playground for everyone. Question is who is on the slide and who is picking the veggies? πŸ€”

You may have heard the adage in one of your old farmers almanac - "You can be good at growing carrots or posting on social media - but not both." Well we are here to balance those scales and buck the status quo, because while it may look like we've just been hard at work installing raised beds since our last post two years ago.... well yeah that's all we've been doing.

Here is one of those installs - ten 8x4x18" Cedar raised beds with irrigation and mulched pathways - ready for this family to grow, grow, grow.

Sunraised Gardens is a local start-up focused on empowering people to grow their own fresh, healthy, sustainable food right in their backyard. Our goal is to create thousands of new backyard gardeners by making it as simple as possible for people to grow their own food. We believe that when people get their hands in soil, they begin to think differently about the food that they eat, and the larger impact that it has on the world.

What We Do
We install high-yield vegetable gardens at homes and businesses, typically raised beds. Using a custom soil mix and block style gardening method, we make it easy for beginner gardeners to grow a lot of food in small spaces. Our goal is to take people who have never grown food before (and have very little time to do so), and give them the best template to succeed.
We’re looking for Garden Installers who:
● Work incredibly hard
● Enjoy demanding physical labor outside
● Are able to communicate clearly with customers
● Can lift a lot of weight (100+ pounds) and have physical stamina and endurance
● Are passionate about the mission of Sunraised Gardens
● Are honest and take responsibility for their actions
● Are independent and can work well alone
● Can problem solve and think on their feet
● Can come to work (reliable transportation) at garden sites around Boulder and Denver.
Preferred Experience (not required)
● Farming experience
● Landscaping experience
This position is 3-5 days a week and starts immediately. This is a seasonal job, as installs start to die down around July (although the possibility for part time continues through November).
Work starts around 8:00 each day and some days can go until 6 or 7pm, depending on the job, weather, etc. Compensation will start at $15/hour with the possibility for a raise after 30 days.

Here's a quick one of a converted front lawn. From turf to starting their own vegetables in one day.

One 2x8x18" and two 4x8x18" with 2' of spacing between beds fit perfectly in this spot.

Irrigation buried to the spigot with a removable timer so beds get their own zone.

Starting the alley gardening movement - turn your alley into an area for growing vegetables. This client put one bed on her side of the driveway, and with their permission, another on their neighbors side. After completion a few more neighbors decided they wanted raised beds in the alley too. I can just imagine a whole alley of raised beds bursting with vegetables and flowers! Trade veggies for a place to grow them - collab with your neighbors - grow food in your alley.
