Superintendent

Description: Alpha Milling Company is seeking applicants for a full-time salaried Superintendent position. The applicant will be responsible for managing / coordinating numerous concurrent construction projects.

Responsibilities:
• Above all, ensure that safe practices are followed by all crew members in all aspects of daily activities
• Organize and implement all components of Alpha Milling’s construction projects including planning, setup, ex*****on, completion, and follow-up
• Coordinate with construction crews, subcontractors, customers, inspectors, and the general public to systematically organize each individual job
• Accurately read and interpret construction plans, specifications, survey maps, etc. to determine best practices for project completion
• Track crew costs, production rates, and employee performance on a daily basis
• Insure proactive and proper equipment maintenance is performed every day
• Provide detailed measurements and construction quantities to the Estimator / Project Manager to facilitate accurate invoicing
• Be directly responsible for the operational and financial success of each job
• Readily promote Alpha Milling’s services to potential clients and agencies
• Maintain the premium degree of professionalism and customer satisfaction that Alpha Milling is known for

Qualifications:
• 5+ years experience in asphalt, grading, paving, or similar field preferred
• Experience with state, municipal and commercial specifications/requirements
• Detail oriented, organized, and capable of working efficiently in a high pressure environment
• Minimum High School education or equivalent
• Reasonable level of computer literacy
• Impeccable communication skills and the ability to communicate with a wide variety of people and backgrounds
• Willingness to work the significant hours associated with the construction industry including nights and weekends
• CDL Required

Alpha Milling Company is seeking equipment operators and laborers for our Rotomilling (milling) operations. Candidates will be required to work on a milling crew either operating rotomilling equipment, operating smaller equipment (including skid-steer loaders or side-cast sweepers), working as a ground hand / laborer, or any combination thereof. Experience with rotomilling equipment is highly preferred. Candidates can expect to work long hours outdoors and will be on their feet all day while either walking or standing. Candidates will be required to participate in any and all on site activities including milling, cleanup, daily equipment maintenance and washdown, etc. Candidates must have a keen sense of safety and awareness when working in high traffic and potentially hazardous construction sites. Attention to detail is of the utmost importance. The position will have ample overtime opportunities during the peak summer construction period (Apr - Nov) Some night and weekend work will be required. Alpha Milling offers a very competitive benefits program including medical, dental, vision, accident, life, 401k and more. This is a seasonal position with a temporary layoff period starting around December and ending in April. Work continues in April as soon as weather permits us to continue roadwork operations. Job attached unemployment is permitted in the off-season. CDL not required but is a plus.
