Took a visit to Gios Pizza and Pasta this week and got to see one of the coolest uses for marble I’ve ever seen. In Italy, it’s common for pizza dough to be kneaded and prepared on a slab of marble. It’s said that the marble adds nutrients to the dough, while improving the flavor as well. This tradition was brought to America and is used at Gio’s, as well as their location in Chapel Hill, Village Pizza. The pizza was fantastic and I highly recommend to anyone in the Snow Camp and surrounding areas to visit. Always awesome to see our beautiful natural stone put to interesting uses!
