Snow is coming…A ring around the moon, also known as a lunar halo, is a bright white ring of light caused by moonlight refracting through ice crystals in high-altitude cirrus clouds. The ice crystals act like a prism, bending and focusing the moonlight into a ring, similar to how water droplets create rainbows.
