I have been working in the Biltmore Village clearing debris from inside buildings all week and have finally hit a wall. I had no internet from Thursday, September 26th, through Thursday October 3rd so I didn’t know what others were seeing or reading. What I have witnessed over the past week is impossible for me to articulate right now. I have seen so much good in the community but the other side of that is heavy. I would like to ask you to do me a favor, please be gentle with each other for the next couple months, this is tough. My family is safe and we made it through the storm with only minor damages. Social media and the news felt so overwhelming when I came back online. This has been a lot to take in and to manage. I don’t think I could be anywhere else other than in the middle of it all helping. I feel full of gratitude and at the same time I am reeling from what I have witnessed. I am going to was my clothes this weekend and sleep.
