New construction has it's perks, but these are the ones that I really love... The old well put out about 1 gallon per minute, if that. That well has been on it's last legs for years. Finally, it was time to drill a new one. This new one puts out at LEAST 15gpm, which is the limit of this pump. It would likely produce 20-30gpm if needed.

The last well that I drilled last year, and the first one that I finished this year were also the same scenario. Old wells, 1-2gpm at best, replaced with wells capable of 30+ gpm. Every well isn't going to put out that much water, but on these kind of jobs, it sure is satisfying knowing that your work will change someone's life for the better. And that is why I keep doing what I do...

It hit me today that I am at the beginning of a milestone year...
As of Oct 1, I am officially beginning my 20th year in business... There have definitely been some tough years, wondering if it was all worth it. In the end, it definitely has been. It is a rather hard job physically, a very expensive business to get started in, and has constant mental challenges. What keeps me going? My customers! Every time that I have considered hanging it all up for something lighter and easier, along comes that customer who NEEDS my help, and their sheer appreciation is what keeps me going. My customers are absolutely awesome.
The flexibility of being self-employed has also given me the opportunity to be more involved in my kids' school events than I had ever imagined. I can make it to most sporting events, band concerts, and other events, that I just wouldn't be able to otherwise. I haven't taken this for granted, and feel very lucky to be able to be so involved with them. Not everyone gets to do that. I want to give a sincere THANK YOU to all who have supported me along the way - family, friends, fellow contractors, and especially..... Amy. I couldn't have done it without her supporting me - Every Step of the Way.
I am excited to see what the future brings. There are some plans to hire help again in the spring. I am at my limits of what one guy can handle. With the right person, we could take so much more work and help so many more people. In the next few years, there are also plans to build a shop, and begin rotary drilling if I find the right deal on a drill rig. Once again, my sincerest thank you to all that have helped make this happen!

Well... I did a thing today...🤣
Always looking forward toward the next step. It was time. They are going to install a block heater first, and go over a couple things, but the papers are signed, and it'll be coming home in a few days!

Changes are coming again. Busy day yesterday... It turns out that the utility bed has seen its better days. Before I bought the truck, there was equipment mounted(I believe it was a bucket truck.) When the equipment was removed, so were some of the supports for the tool boxes, and lack of proper support has taken it's toll. All of the wiring for lights was atrocious as well, and will be far easier to start over and fix it right. So some swapping begins...

Step one - remove water tank from white truck. That was harder than it should have been, but no big deal. I started building a bed for this truck a couple years ago, but now I will be robbing it to use on the black/red rig.
Second - remove hoist from truck.
Third remove the utility bed from the black/red truck.
4th - remove subframe assembly for the bucket truck(hidden under bed).
Today I can clean things up, and start fabbing the bed, and a new headache rack with a rest for the derrick. The hoist used to use a v-twin Honda to run the hydraulics, but an upgrade to a 3-cylinder Yanmar diesel will also be part of this project.
I will be down for a couple more days to complete this project, but at the end of it, it should make things even more reliable!
