ODOT says US 30 outside Astoria remains closed due to Tuesday night's landslide. So far they have cleared roughly 1/3 of the debris. There is no estimated reopening time.

At Big River we always try to have fun when we can. So, when it came time to plan Clyde's retirement party we thought it'd be a lot of fun to have Clyde cut the cake with an excavator. Not to be outdone, Mike, Rick, Derek, Phil, Justin, Devin, Mason & Jesse also gave it a shot. For Big River Construction, 2021 marks our 20th Anniversary, and looking back we are pleased to see the road we’ve traveled has been expertly rocked and the hills and valleys we’ve faced have been precisely graded according to specifications. Our initial goal of complete customer satisfaction is still a top priority for Big River today. Throughout any job we do, striving to finish with the customers, subcontractors, municipalities, and neighbors wanting to work with us again is a constant focus. And we think that is why Clyde Stanley’s hope in the last line of this article from the Daily Astorian has come true.
In the coming weeks and months we’ll share some fun past projects, but our true focus is the future, because the next 20 years will be here before we know it.
