To our friends and extended community,

It is with great sadness that we share the news of Melvin’s passing this morning. Melvin was not just an exceptional logger for over a decade, but also a kind-hearted individual, a loving father, great friend and a devoted husband.

His presence in our lives and our industry will be deeply missed. Thank you for keeping Melvin’s family in your thoughts during this difficult time.

I’m looking for the right person, to hire on to our crew. A good background with timber falling experience is preferred, obviously! Would be willing to start breaking in the right guy with previous experience logging, preferably working on a tower side! A great attitude is a must! Must be willing to learn! You will learn from some of the best fallers around, as well as some of the best loggers around! We don’t need a young know it all, cuz trust me, we’ve already been there, done it, or seen it! MUST be willing to help out logging sides with bucking over size, cut by a feller buncher. As well as understand what the preferred lengths are target what is wanted and do the job expected of you, (I can’t believe, I even have to mention that)! Very competitive wages, health insurance after the probationary month, as well as a retirement program after one year of employment! Please send me a private message if you’re the right guy. I don’t t need any jokers or anyone saying, “man if only I lived closer”. I don’t have time for that s**t! Thank you!

Happy Independence Day from the gang of Browning Timber Falling, LLC! Be smart, be responsible! If you drink don’t drive! If you got the good fireworks, no not talking about snakes and sparklers. But mortars and s**t. Be responsible, let your kids light the fuses, they should be a lot more sober than you! Just kidding, well sort of! That’s Jayson’s favorite part! Just have fun, enjoy the special holiday for this great nation. And there’s a very very special reason we celebrate this day. Let’s not allow the s**t that caused this last time happen again!

My mini is feeling even better than yesterday! We’re loaded up and heading to West Linn! He’s got four, one liter bottles of water with him in the truck. Gonna be a warm day! First game is at noon, second game is at 6:00 this evening. Always important to pre-hydrate, just as important as it is to maintain hydration! Maybe dad should listen to his own words!

The Astoria Major 70’s team, Browning Timber Falling, will be looking for some revenge after a very hard outing last night. Especially after a very busy weekend, and a late Sunday evening at the Hillsboro Hops game. But, no excuses in sports. This is coming from a coach, who has coached several of these kids on the football field!

Ya just gotta learn from last nights mistakes. Mental errors, fielding errors, hitting mechanics, and some bad attitudes. Like i told Jayson last night, as we talked about his personal attitude, and how to correctly fix some of his mistakes. Then I told, ok, game over. Put it behind you, that game has now been left on the field! Today is a new day, new game! Focus on today, same team! You know what they have, and give’em hell!
