🛠️🇺🇸 Skilled Labor Deserves Real Respect

Skilled work is not “cheap” work — it is the kind of work that keeps America running.

Welders, electricians, plumbers, mechanics, builders, machinists, HVAC techs, and factory workers bring years of training, experience, precision, and hard-earned knowledge to every job they do.

When something breaks, leaks, sparks, shuts down, or needs to be built, people depend on skilled workers to show up and fix it right. That kind of labor takes discipline, pride, patience, and real ability.

Too often, society talks about skilled trades like they are second place. But America needs people who can build, repair, maintain, and produce just as much as it needs people with degrees.

Cheap labor is not skilled. Skilled labor is valuable. 🇺🇸

This is what's left of 130 lbs of welding rod. lol......

4 hanger door build-ups, 108 total hinges, 20 follower wheel retaining brackets, 6 main building column to base plate welds and one interior square colum to flage plate.

It was a great job, I always have a lot of fun working with the CDA Steel crew!

Onto the next one, interior staircase rail, deck banister railing modification and the fabrication of an exterior steel staircase.

Have a great afternoon, Y'all.

As a confident and skilled tradesman I excel in the field of fabrication and welding with 35+ years of experience.

My career started at 14, obtained my first submerged arc certification and recognized at my high school awards ceremony as the top welder at the age of 17.

After graduation I was fortunate to work with some of the industries best fabricators and welders in multiple fields, from semi trailer manufacturing in the agricultural industry, structural exposure with a crew of iron workers and in the oilfield rebuilding / fabricating mud tubs, mixing tanks, metric shoes, fishing tools, elevators, widow makers and shakers. Plus drill rig modifications that include the fabrication and install of hydraulic tongs, work platforms, cyclones, sonic drive heads and mast repair. Then ornamental iron for commercial and residential clients, fabricating / installing, railings, gates, décor, yard art, and more.

Once on my own, my crew and I focused on the wireless communication industry building elevated platforms, staircases, equipment bases, and antenna bracketry per approved drawings while still catering to all the industries mentioned above.

My references read like a phone book.

The downside, now I have an attitude of just because you can doesn't mean you should. lol......

I followed another tradesman on a site recently, and again, just because you can doesn't mean you should. hahaha..

Picks below are before and after. I had to rework every connection. I can say, they were "burnt in" hahahaha. well, not so much on the tacks. haha

When consistency is key, invest your time and material in fabricating jigs & fixtures. This one took a minute but works very well. Have a great week, Y'all!!
