Randy Leon Shipley
August 22, 1958 - July 9, 2025
Randy Leon Shipley, age 66, of Atkins, passed away on July 9, 2025, at Baptist Health Medical Center in Conway. He was born August 22, 1958, in Russellville, to the late A.D. and Hertha Howerton Shipley.
Randy graduated from Pottsville High School and later attended Central Arkansas Baptist Bible Institute (CABBI), where he strengthened his faith and grew in knowledge and desire to better serve his Lord Jesus and His churches.
Throughout his life, Randy was associated with churches of the American Baptist Association where he served as music leader and teacher. He was also a mentor to foreign students at ATU, assisting with English and one-on-one Bible studies. He was a member of Hatley Missionary Baptist Church. He cherished his loving church family, and the friendships formed throughout the churches and at CABBI.
Randy found joy in gospel music, hunting, and fishing, activities that allowed him to appreciate nature and the fellowship of friends and family. His love for the outdoors was only surpassed by his love of God, his family, friends, and his church family. He will be well remembered for his wit and humor.
Randy is survived by his spouse, Eva Shipley; children, Tyler Shipley (Mariah), Jennifer Shipley, Randy Seth Shipley (Lacey), and Kalob Shipley; siblings, Karon Crites, Keith Shipley (Kathy), Ronald Shipley (Janice), Anita Blackford (Allen), and Bruce Shipley (Janan); numerous grandchildren; nieces; nephews, and cousins.
He was a much-loved figure in their lives as spouse, father, papa, brother, uncle, cousin and friend.
A family conducted memorial service will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 17, 2025, at Hatley Missionary Baptist Church, 3150 Hwy 165 East, in Dover. Burial will be private with arrangements under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Randy's memory may be made to the Central Arkansas Baptist Bible Institute, 26401 S. Fairview Road, Hensley, AR 72065, a place that was very close to his heart.
