I can’t speak for other gardeners, but for me, this is one the hardest parts of gardening. Waiting for the first tomatoes to ripen. The first tomato sandwich of the year is pure magic.

This is why I don’t top my pepper plants. I get peppers several weeks earlier.

Here's how I grow cabbage in my raised bed garden.

You can plant in spring or fall. I find that fall is a bit easier because of milder temps and fewer pests.

Make sure you amend your soil with rich compost like Soil3 Veggie mix.

Organic liquid fertilizer is also helpful if you're growing in containers.

Once the cabbage starts to head, check it often and harvest before it splits.

But I’m super happy with this onion harvest. I only wish that I had grown more.

These are Vidora onions from Hoss. Good starts grown in Soil3 Veggie Mix produced some great onions!
