Today from sea to shining sea, tens of thousands volunteers placed wreaths on veterans graves. We honor all the men and women who served and now lie in rest in cemeteries across this great land. As we placed a wreath on the tombstone, we were asked to read their name to honor them once again. Blessed to participate at the Marietta National Cemetery where more than 18,000 of our Nations finest rest.

Though it’s been decades since I last wore the uniform, I still have a special connection with every Veteran I meet. Finished this US Flag memorial case for a buddy to honor his father who fought in WW2. I take great pride in each one of these I make, and think about the story behind each person these are honoring. Many times we fail to understand the impact deployments have on their families. Missed holidays, birthdays, graduations and etc. I’ll never forget their duty and sacrifice to our great country.

Memorial Day 2023. “Since the Revolutionary War ended, 646,596 American troops have died in battle and more than 539,000 died from other, non-combat related causes.” On this day we honor the brave men and women who did not come home. I think about their stories, what they will never experience and the impact on their families and friends. They gave their all with honor, service and duty. My respect and gratitude goes out to all the heroes that did not come home……
