HBAG thanks each member of the Georgia Congressional delegation that supported the historic "21st Century Road to Housing Act" which became law this weekend. NAHB President and CEO Jim Tobin says federal, state and local regulations now account for more than $130,000 of the cost of a new home, pricing many Americans out of homeownership.

Government regulations add nearly $132,000 to a new home's price, up 40% since 2021, according to a new NAHB study on the housing affordability crisis.

We heard from EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin, and heard panel discussions with NAHB Chair Bill Owens, HUD Secretary Scott Turner and SBA Administrator Kelly Loeffler, as well as one that included FHFA Director Bill Pulte.
