One of the things are company prizes our self in is we do not sell you things you do not need. Not every situation calls for a French drain. moisture or v***r barriers are an important aspect of your crawlspace. An improper moisture barrier or lack of , can cause major damage in your home. Its purpose is to block v***rs and moisture in the soil from getting into your crawl space. This is important for two reasons: The air in your crawl space gets into your home. Your house is made of materials that are porous: wood, concrete, even fiberglass insulation.

Problems in your crawl space can enter your home. This is especially problematic if someone in your home is managing a respiratory condition.

In addition, porous materials do more than allow air to circulate. They also allow moisture in your crawl space.

There’s a whole process to handle water damage, any missed steps in protocol can cause these kind of damages. This is an informative post, because even big companies may cut corners. So make sure you ask questions and a lot of them.  this is why we strive to ensure that we follow proper EPA protocols. Your health and your property are more important to us 🙂

Quick lesson on air quality test. Air quality test are done for two reasons, one no suspicion of mold is present but there is an odor , the second one is done because mold is present and you want to see how bad the mold is.

For the second option these test MUST be done in areas in question. You can do it in non questioned areas so long as the questionable areas are done first. There should also be an outside sample for these test.

For matters of crawlspace or attic one would do a direct sample/ tape sample as attics and crawlspaces generally share the same air space as the outside so an air test would be faulty.
