Our Limited Edition Fine Art Prints are produced using the giclee (zhee-CLAY) process onto 100% Watercolor cotton for texture and lush vibrancy. The word Giclee was taken from a version of the French word 'la giclée' meaning, 'that which is sprayed or squirted'. Giclee printing is also meant to produce a product at a higher quality and longer lifespan. Alexis Long is the founder and owner of Along Artworks, LLC. Her first desires to create art came about from her admiration of couture fashion in magazines and Victorian-style architecture while growing up in the historic district Savannah, GA. Absorbing the essence of this, Alexis often drew and imagined herself as a world-wide fashion mogul, "playing" CEO of her own empire. Using her bed as a pretend conference table, running board meetings at 8 years old came as natural to Alexis as beautiful brush strokes. In her early teen years, Alexis studied art under her father, Alexander Watson, Sr. and the late William Tolliver, who was also a world renowned painter. Soon her creative energy began to manifest itself on canvas and at 16 years old Alexis created her vision for "Project Windows", a piece inspired by artist Nasir Jones's song with the same title. This piece won her the U.S. Congressional Art Award, it was her very first time submitting one of her visions for the world to see. Her next decade of creation would be dedicated to both arts and business after completing her studies of Fine Arts and Business Administration at Georgia State University in 2006. Today, Alexis resides in north Atlanta, GA along with her husband and daughter. Alexis is also apart of several Fine Art Associations and is an active member of the Upsilon Alpha Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated in Gwinnett County.
