Employee Spotlight: John Barry

We are proud to recognize John Barry, Superintendent at Benning Construction, for his 12 years of dedicated service. With more than 20 years of industry experience, John oversees daily project operations from start to finish, ensuring quality, safety, and successful project delivery.

John has led a wide range of projects across the Southeast, including Publix remodels, Planet Fitness locations, Aldi expansions, healthcare facilities, hospitality projects, and large-scale commercial developments. He is also the recipient of the AGC Georgia 2026 Safety Excellence-Ron Amerson Award and served as Superintendent on two first-place AGC Build Georgia Award-winning projects: Planet Fitness Pooler (2026) and Planet Fitness Tower Square (2025).

His expertise, leadership, and commitment to excellence continue to make a lasting impact on Benning's success.

A great day at the Publix Lake Oconee project in Eatonton, GA!

Our Accounting, HR, and Marketing teams came together to serve lunch to our hardworking crew members and show our appreciation for everything they do each day. Special thanks to Ashley Young, Lisa Williams, Brittney Humes, Nicole Blasczyk, Debi Nash, Carl Erickson, Alden Brooks, and Jessica Coleman for supporting this event.

Ten years ago, David Pitts started at Benning as a Warranty Manager, a role he held for five years. During that time, he developed a strong ability to solve problems on the fly and adapt to whatever challenges came his way, skills that continue to serve him today.

From there, David transitioned into the Assistant Project Manager role, bringing the same hands-on, client-focused approach to every project. Today, as a Project Manager, he leverages a decade of industry experience to successfully lead projects and deliver results.

He said, "Benning's been a great place to grow — always something new, always something challenging. And honestly, I wouldn't want it any other way."

We are grateful to have David as part of the Benning team and look forward to his continued success and contributions in the years ahead.
