The last and final step….staining the beams.
Pressure treated pine needs to have a moisture content of 15% or less before a stain or paint can be applied. Painting or staining wood with moisture levels above 15% will lead to trapped moisture, which causes paint failure, bubbling/peeling paint and mold/mildew growth.
Make sure your contractor/painter is checking the moisture levels prior to coating, especially with pressure treated wood!
