Inspired by need, Inventor Tony Monaco "built" the first GRANDSTAND in miniature form from the cardboard backing of a legal tablet. This was done simply to test the possibilities. Then after a few scale drawings, he went to a local lumber yard, ordered what he needed for delivery the next day. That day was exactly one week from April 8, 20121, the night of his first show with Turnstiles, his newly

formed Billy Joel Tribute band. With only 1 week to build, The GRANDSTAND had to fold to fit into his 2007 Chevrolet Equinox,be movable with no more than 2 people, hold a large digital piano (Yamaha S90EX) and look like a classic grand piano and be ready in ONE WEEK! It indeed do it all.....in GRAND style! Some 9 years and over 500 shows later, the original GRANDSTAND is still on the road, completing the illusion of a real piano for Turnstiles' tribute to The Piano Man! So if you have a digital piano, it deserves to live in a GRANDSTAND! The only collapsible piano shell in the US!
