Playing with shape + texture is where this mid-century bathroom gets interesting. 🌿
Rather than relying on one statement finish, we layered several, each bringing something different to the space while still connecting back to the overall design.
The oversized circles in Livette's Wallpaper Retro Chic wallpaper bring in the playful geometry that makes mid-century design so recognizable. Below, glossy sage Statements Tile & Stone shifts that pattern into a long rectangular form, creating contrast in both shape and scale while carrying the green palette through the room.
The rounded silhouette of the West Elm Frida Fluted Mirror echoes the curves in the wallpaper, while its fluted wood frame introduces warmth and a completely different texture.
That warmth continues through the Kohler wall-mounted faucet in Brushed Bronze, which stands out beautifully against the cooler sage tones. MSI Surfaces Calacatta Miraggio Duo quartz gives the eye a quieter place to land, with subtle veining that adds movement without competing with the bolder finishes around it.
It’s a mix of opposites that somehow feels completely at home together:
• Curves against clean lines
• Glossy tile against fluted wood
• Bold pattern against subtle veining
• Warm bronze against cool sage
And that’s really the key to mixing materials successfully. Not everything has to match. In fact, some of the most interesting spaces come from letting finishes contrast while creating smaller connections between color, shape, scale and texture.
The wallpaper speaks to the mirror. The sage tile pulls from the pattern. The wood and brushed bronze bring warmth to the cooler greens. Each selection has its own personality, but none of them feel like they’re fighting for attention.
The result feels collected rather than coordinated, and distinctly its own.
Because a well-designed bathroom shouldn’t feel like everything came from the same collection. It should feel like every piece was chosen for a reason. 🌿
