There's a big difference between just cutting grass and managing healthy turf.
These yards had gotten taller than normal thanks to all the rain and fertilizer. Instead of rushing through them, I slowed down, double cut where needed, and brought the grass back down to the ideal maintenance height. It takes more time, but the results speak for themselves.
One thing I can't stand is consistently letting turf stay too tall. I've watched too many people keep raising their mower deck because the grass gets out of hand. Before long, every mowing turns into a scalping because the turf has become uneven and unhealthy.
Sometimes the best solution isn't raising the deck—it's mowing more often and changing your mowing direction. Alternating patterns helps the grass stand back up for a cleaner cut, reduces grain, and promotes a healthier, more uniform lawn over time.
A healthy lawn isn't maintained by taking shortcuts. It's maintained with consistency, patience, and cutting at the proper height—even when that means mowing slower, making a second pass, or mowing a little more frequently.
Take care of your turf, and it'll reward you with a lawn you can be proud of. Those stripes are just the bonus.
