🌲 NOT ALL FORESTRY MULCHERS ARE CREATED EQUAL

When you're calling around for forestry mulching, it's easy to compare contractors by the hourly or daily rate.
But there's much more to it than the number you’re quoted.
Horsepower, drum type, and even the teeth installed on the drum can make a major difference in how a machine handles different trees, brush and ground conditions.
A machine designed for light brush is going to be set up much differently than one built to tackle larger trees and heavier material.
So before comparing rates, remember:
The machine and its setup matter.

Industry Standard?

When it comes to forestry mulching, an “industry standard” really isn’t always the case.

A .50-acre lot to the south might be flat, sandy, with little to no rock and very little deadfall. We can potentially rip through a lot like that in 4 hours or less.

Travel north and look at another .50-acre lot with the same scope, but now the terrain presents challenges — it may not be flat, there could be scattered rock, low/wet areas, and more deadfall. The two lots simply aren’t comparable when you take into consideration the wear and tear on the equipment and the time involved.
We always strive to be fair, give an honest assessment, and do the best we absolutely can in every situation.

Not all forestry mulching jobs are the same.

We recently completed a cleanup for a customer who had their property mulched last winter. With snow on the ground, the results looked great at first. Once spring arrived, however, the snow melted to reveal 6–8 inch stumps and unground material throughout the property. The customer simply hadn't been told what to expect after the snow was gone.
