Saint Charles Backyard Transformation

This project brought together a full outdoor living setup using Unilock Holland Premier three-tone pavers for the patio and sidewalk combination.

We completed the space with custom landscape work, low-voltage lighting, a built-in gazebo, sitting wall details, and a custom drainage system to keep everything functioning properly long term.

Just finished one of our favorite backyard transformations in Downers Grove, IL… and the lighting completely changed everything 🔥🌙

This project started as a full backyard landscape renovation along both sides of the fence line. We designed the space to feel clean, modern, low-maintenance, and high-end during the day — but the real magic happens at night.

We installed a custom landscape design with flowing bed lines, fresh plantings, mulch, and custom Eden lawn edging to create a clean, natural border between the lawn and planting beds.

Then we brought the entire space to life with a custom landscape lighting design using FX Luminaire fixtures and Pro-Trade Lighting materials. The goal was not just to “add lights” — it was to create depth, shadows, warm fence glow, tree highlights, pathway visibility, and that luxury backyard resort feel.

The Japanese maple, fence line, pathway, shed, and planting beds all now have their own moment at night.

This Downers Grove yard got the full glow-up. 👀🔥

What started as a tired, uneven landscape is now a clean, functional, design-built outdoor space with fresh grading, improved drainage, new plantings, natural flagstone steppers, premium mulch, brand-new Kentucky bluegrass, and a beautiful Crescendo Sugar Maple to anchor the front yard for years to come.

This wasn’t just “throw some plants in and mulch it.”

This was a full landscape renovation designed and installed with purpose:

This project included a full Unilock permeable sidewalk installation using Unilock Treo Smooth with a bold Copthorne accent border for that custom, high-end finish.

Oswego backyard upgrade complete 🔥

This project brought together a clean Unilock paver patio, custom landscape stonework, and a modern wetcast walkway design to create a backyard that feels polished, functional, and ready to enjoy.

We used Unilock Westport Smooth for the main patio with a Holland Premier border detail to give the space a sharp, high-end contrast. The stepping stone area adds a modern custom landscape feature, while the Quarry Smooth steps with Ledgestone Fullnose coping create a clean transition from the home to the patio.

We wanted to share a small update to our estimate process as G Construction & Landscape continues to grow.

Over the past season, we’ve seen a big increase in estimate requests, and we’re incredibly grateful for the continued support, referrals, and trust in our company. As demand has grown, we’ve been looking for ways to protect our schedule and make sure we can continue giving every project the time, attention, and care it deserves.

To help us do that, new on-site estimate appointments will now require a small consultation deposit at the time of booking.

This deposit helps cover travel time, site evaluation, measurements, and the planning that goes into preparing each proposal. It also helps us reserve time for serious inquiries so we can stay focused on delivering high-quality service, timely communication, and a better overall experience for the clients we serve.

Most importantly, this deposit is fully credited toward the project total if you move forward with us.

Our existing and returning clients will always remain exempt from this deposit requirement. If we’ve worked with you before, your on-site estimate appointments will continue to be booked with no consultation deposit.

This change is simply meant to help us manage demand in a way that allows us to serve our clients well, maintain quality, and continue giving each project the attention it deserves from the very beginning.
