Diameter isn’t everything.

Put two 2⅞-inch helical piers next to each other and they might look comparable. Put them under serious torque and the differences start showing.

The thinner-wall pier began twisting before ultimately breaking at 8,500 ft-lb.

We didn’t just compare piers on paper. We pushed them until the differences became impossible to ignore.

During testing, the competitor’s pier started bending at 6,000 ft-lbs of torque and ultimately broke at 8,500 ft-lbs. Our FnD 2-7/8” pier reached 11,000 ft-lbs, while our 4.5” pier was pushed all the way to the test equipment’s 19,000 ft-lb limit.

Why the difference? Wall thickness, sacrificial steel, and how the pier is engineered matter.

Not all helical piles are built the same.

Two piles can look similar from the outside while being very different where it actually matters. Material, wall thickness, and steel composition all affect how a pile performs and how much material it has available over its service life.
