Service Technician

Tee Jay provides sales, service, installation, and repairs of automatic/manual doors and equipment throughout Northern Illinois. We are an industry-leading, family business that has been providing exceptional service for 55+ years. Tee Jay is seeking Service Technicians who are driven to provide high-quality service, safety, and professionalism to our customers.
Responsibilities:
• Provide routine and emergency service
• Inspect, diagnose, repair and/or recommend new equipment following up with sales rep
• Reference diagrams, manuals, and online resources to assist in troubleshooting
• Assist in service and installations
• Report to customer locations on time
• Perform safety checks and preventative maintenance
• Test and clean equipment before leaving a job site
• Follow procedures recording all work completed and parts used for each job
• Communicate effectively with territory manager with any job-related service notes
• Demonstrate and understand ability to adhere to all work safety policies and procedures
• Maintain a clean, stocked, and organized van
• Wear appropriate, approved apparel
• Ensure proper work/site PPE equipment is used on all jobs
• Present a neat and clean appearance
• Establish, maintain good customer relations
• Maintain union credentials as required by IBEW, Local 134
• Acquire and sustain AAADAM certification
• Complete random drug/alcohol screenings
• Other duties may be required

• Smartphone/tablet experience
• Prior experience in the construction industry, electrical field, or HVAC a plus
• Prior experience servicing automated doors, installing door frames, glazing etc. a plus
Position Requirements:
• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Valid driver’s license and clean motor vehicle record (MVR)
• Must be able to pass physical exam, background, and drug screening
• Ability to lift and carry up to 75lbs
• Ability to sustain 40lbs above head
• Ability to climb and stand on a ladder for an extended period
• Ability to bend, kneel, reach, sit, and stand for an extended period
