It has been very dry out ,little to no weather. I would recommend to my customers when it is progressive and dry and leaning late into the season of winter with no moistier, It's ok to water once or twice . But don't over water to avoid any root rot or fungus but an occasional water is fine to help out your lawn. also, aeration is also nice to help retain any of that water that is going to fall and make it go deeper into the soil deep down this helps to store water for summer months.

Perfect time of the year to slow down with the water reduce watering length on the clock and maybe 3-4 times a week and continue to back off as the cold weather progresses to avoid killing your lawn with root rot and fungus . Also Apply some sort of fungus reduction from hardware store or a company as well as aeration is nice specially if you have clay or shade or both. Remember to reduce watering after the weather progressively cools down to avoid root rot and fungus mold ect..generally in the fall i water 2-4 days a week to build the roots stronger and reduce it as needed till its time to blow out the sprinkler system for the winter.

Fall is here among us once again ! Time to over seed the lawn, aerate, reduce the water and spray with fungicide and fall application of fertilizer or winterizer for the longevity of your lawn to stay strong, i would recommend not skipping any of these measures if you have questions?! i willing to help Tony 720-366-2659

This is the pefrect time of the year to treat for bugs grubs love this weather and will destroy your roots and kill your grass. also perfect time to get an aeration as well as fertalizer and water even if it means watering by hand till the grass greens up !

Basic Watering and Maintenance For New Sod

Water - 3 times a day 15 mins each zone with new sod . I reccomend watering at 5 am 12 pm and 5 pm.
After 2 weeks lift up on the sod to make sure it has began to stick to the ground and when that happens
reduce the watering so the soil can drain to avoid root rot then should be safe to mow at that time as well.
During the hot months I personaly water my lawn 5 times a week with my sprinkler system for 8 minutes once in the am and once in the late afternoon if needed so the summer heat doesnt dry out my grass and kill it maybe this would work for you as well depending if you get alot of sun or not but also make sure that youre not over watering let it dry and drain if needed time to time to avoid root rot.
People with alot of shade should not water as much as someone with a sun packed yard to reduce the chances of thinning grass or fungus and root rot.look up good watering scheduals for shady grass areas on the internet to find the best options for you if needed or give me a call I can see if i can help you with that.

Mowing- Raise your blades up use a bag to catch the grass so the clippings dont smother and kill your new sod.rake it up if needed.First mowing will be 2 weeks after your installation as long as the sod has stuck to the ground then turn the water off long enough to make the area not wet before you mow.

Fertalizer- Do not fertalize the yard at least 2 months after the install to reduce the chances of burning the new sod that comes fertalized. when you do fertalize just use small amounts no need to over do it by mistake .less is better if you are unsure.

Weeds-After install use a non fertalizer w**d killer not a grass and w**d killer normaly the best one you can plug on your hose and spray and it says safe to spray on the grass only kills w**ds not grass i use the brand spectacide in the black bottle. i recomend using this after you mow either the first 3 weeks or a month after you install after mowing.if yo notice w**d growth.buy treat w**ds soon as you feel they are a problem in the method you see best fit for your saftey and life style.

Walking & Traffic New Sod-Never walk on wet grass to avoid causing giant lumps and bumps on the gound that will never come out after you walk on wet grass.

Shade and Sod - You have to watch that you are not over watering sod does not throve in full shade and if it survives it will be do to watering less that most people and not watering in the night to prevent fungus growth. but you have to water it alot for the first 2 weeks to get the sod to root .

Dogs and Animals-Do not let the dogs on the yard while the transplant is happening they could put large bumps in the yard since you will be watering so much also do not let female dogs urinate on the sod ever the p*e will kill the grass fast also pine needles will also kill your grass rake offten to avoid that if you have pine.
