One of the biggest challenges when adding onto an older home? Making the new space feel like it was always meant to be there.

Here, we’re carefully matching the new slab level to the existing concrete so the transition between old and new feels smooth and natural.

It’s a small detail that takes a lot of precision, but it makes a huge difference in the finished space.

This bathroom was designed around custom choices from top to bottom.

The millwork, mirrors, wallpaper, feather light fixture, tile, heated towel rack, and travertine tub all had to work together. The tub itself was cut from a piece of stone overseas and shipped in for the project.

High-end construction is not about adding expensive pieces at random. It is about installing every detail so the room feels like one complete design.

The hardest part of this commercial project was not the finish work. It was waiting for the permits.

While the city review moved forward, the team coordinated countertops, equipment, appliances, and health-department requirements with the owner. That preparation helped the build move quickly once approval came through.

Permitting can slow the start of a project, but good coordination keeps it from creating more delays later.

A lot is happening below the surface at Alcott.

We’re putting in a new sewer line, checking the slope for proper drainage, and working through some of the challenges that come with older construction. We’re also opening up the basement for a future walkout and building an addition above it.

The goal: turn a small home into something with a whole lot more space and function.

This one is personal. It is Brandi's own house.

The plan is a full transformation: gut the interior, replace the windows, remove walls, add a two-car garage, and build roughly 1,200 square feet of new space.

Buying a home that needs this much work isn't about accepting someone else's layout. It is a chance to rebuild it around the way you actually want to live.

Every crew has its own process, and trust matters.

On this job, Helix Custom Painters prefer to finish after the millwork, flooring, and electrical are installed. That only works when you know they have the skill to protect everything properly and deliver a clean finish.

Double floor protection, careful prep, and a process they’ve earned our confidence in.

Sometimes the best result comes from letting great trades do what they do best.

A commercial build-out involves a lot more than making the space look finished.

Before opening day, the project has to move through fire-safety requirements, alarm and mitigation systems, ADA compliance, health-department inspections, and city permitting. Once the permits were released, the team could move quickly because the next steps were already coordinated.

The visible finishes matter, but the behind-the-scenes compliance is what lets a business open its doors.

This project is a massive undertaking from the framing up.

We’re keeping much of the interior framing, removing a large portion of the exterior, changing the roofline, and extending the walls to make room for the new addition.

Once it’s done, we’ll have even more living space, including a new primary bedroom and an additional bathroom.

A lot is changing, and this home will feel completely different when it all comes together.

Insurance restoration is easier when your GC knows how the claim process works.

BFAB uses the same estimating software as the carriers and looks for the details adjusters often miss, from flooring line of sight to cabinets and connected finishes.

Bad framing does not get hidden behind drywall.

On Xavier Street, BFAB pushed for the framing work that actually needed to be included in the claim, then rebuilt it properly so the finished restoration had the right foundation behind it.
