This holiday resonates deeply with me...

My grandfather was in the Navy in WW2, my father was in the Navy during Vietnam, and I was in the Army during Operation Enduring Freedom. To give one's life in the service of others, in my humble opinion, is one of the most honorable sacrifices a person can make. Sure, we all fight and make fun of each other, but no matter the MOS, we all signed on the dotted line knowing what was at stake. Nathan Hale stated, during the Revolutionary War, "I only regret that I have but one life to lose for my country" and I agree with him.
