Here's the part most people miss: this yard is shaded, and shade is where most lawns fail. Grass thins out under trees, goes patchy, and slowly gives up. The reason this one worked is the grass itself — this is St. Augustine, one of the most shade-tolerant varieties we grow. Its wide, broad blades soak up filtered light that would starve a Bermuda lawn, which is exactly why it's the go-to for tree-heavy Texas yards like this one.

🌿 The right grass for the light. Match the sod to how much sun your yard actually gets, and the lawn does half the work itself. St. Augustine for shade is the classic call.
