Haddon + Cowan Architects Haddon+Cowan is a full-service, collaborative architecture firm with a focus on creating meaningful COLLABORATION INSPIRES BETTER DESIGN.

We believe that we can create a more inspired architecture by merging the ideas of many. We are dedicated to elevating architecture with authentic collaboration and exploration in order to achieve quality design. The firm is based in Austin, Texas. The Partners, Michael D. Haddon, AIA, LEED AP and Michael D. Cowan, AIA, RAS have a combined experience of 32 years in architecture and established HCA

C in 2004 to bring together their strengths and offer clients a vision of a truly service-oriented architectural firm. We have a collaborative open office environment including an Interior Design firm and a MEP engineering firm that work “hand in hand” with us on most of our projects and are a great resource on other projects. As a collaborative practice, we have an added value of a “hands on” approach to each of our projects. Projects from renovations to new construction, has unique set of challenges that require a detail-oriented approach and a sometimes creative solution to become a successful project. Our diverse range of experience has required that we remain flexible and work closely with the client to fit their specific goals, requirements, schedule, and budget into the development of each project. We work collaboratively with all of our consultants and make it a point to produce a comprehensive and highly coordinated set of documents for construction. Our focus is on Commercial, Institutional and Retail clientele, although we have provided many other services for various other clients. Our completed work includes a wide variety of projects ranging from $150,000.00 to $54,000,000.00 in construction budgets. This diverse range of clients has given us a wide base of experience for our practice and has strengthened our resolve to be both responsive and flexible. As Partners, Mike Haddon and/or Michael Cowan attend every Owner review and meeting regarding the project and are committed to providing the utmost service to our clients. School is starting and Valor North Austin is up and running! You might have seen this building from I-35, it's an addition to their existing building. The big elevated white box is a 2nd floor gymnasium, which leaves the open underside for athletics (the site is land-locked and we're using every inch)! There's also a future rooftop play field!

TxDOT required us to put in a Lone Star somewhere in the Wichita Falls Safety Rest Area for travelers to take photo opportunities, so we incorporated a screened panel star on the front porch. We also inadvertently created a place for 5-year old's to ham it up for pictures (he's the one with his neck "stuck" in the point of the star)! Best laid plans :)

Progress on our future home! Structura is making great progress on a really tight site and the wood lock-deck is going in (will be exposed on the interior). A freelance neighborhood "artist" has graced our future lobby with some creative decorations as well...the Dorito-guy might actually stay :)
