Big news for renewable energy in Texas. The Texas House has passed HB 3228, a bill mandating that solar and wind projects recycle all components capable of being reused or recycled at the end of their lifecycle. Non-recyclable parts must be properly disposed of.

This legislation aims to address past issues in the wind industry, such as a recycling facility's failure to fulfill its promise to recycle about 5,000 wind turbine blades for General Electric.
Texas, already a leader in solar energy with 41.5 GW installed, is expected to add another 41 GW over the next five years. This bill could set a precedent for other states to follow, ensuring that the growth of renewable energy doesn't come at the expense of environmental responsibility.
What are your thoughts on this development? Should other states implement similar recycling mandates for renewable energy projects?
