Taking on a special needs project was a big decision for us. Having a niece with sensory processing disorder, we understood that changes & sleep routines are a big deal! We definitely wanted to do it, but with extra special consideration to ensure we met their needs. Our first Montessori floor bed made one family very happy, & We too are also excited for their new milestone. We also included a special gift for the sweet little girl getting her first big girl bed 💜

In Sickness and in Health...and all my crafting needs & wants haha. Being married to a carpenter means you don’t always run out to buy wood furnishings because your husband will say, “Don’t buy that, It’s not real wood... I can make it”. I wanted a table runner tray that was 4 feet long, and I couldn’t find one that long anywhere. He came home with my tray, and it’s better than the one I was going to settle for!!! Thankful that he actually listens when I ramble on about another project & all the times he’s gotten into the holiday spirit with me 🧡 🍁 🎃👻

It’s been awhile since we have posted but we definitely wanted to say thank you to all our amazing customers that have supported us during covid. We have been busier than ever, and are now on a month wait for some of our bigger projects!!! Here was a delivery we made this afternoon for a repeat customer who wanted a coffee table to place over her ottoman, that also matched her tv stand. If you can’t find the perfect table you want, get one custom made! 🧡

Having more down time together has allowed us time to reflect on all the projects we’ve tackled as a team. It also has provided us time to focus on other visions & ideas that we would like to do with our business. At innovation carpentry, we are more than carpentry. We are a husband and wife duo- that loves to dabble in all sorts of crafts & projects! In honor of our niece Camila’s birthday we included the gift we made her. As a child with sensory processing disorder, bath-time & showers are a continued struggle. We put our heads together and asked.... “what does she love?” Well that was easy- Legos! She’s downright obsessed!!! We decided to make her some lego soap to show her that we understand it isn’t easy- but there are always ways to embrace & adapt... and when that seems tough, she can always call us to make or build it for her!

Even on this rainy gloomy day we were able to put a little sunshine in someone’s day. Our customer drove all the way from Houston to pick up his Longhorn coffee table! The future for small business owners is scary, but we are keeping the faith and doing our best to remain optimistic. We hand craft every project here in our south Austin shop!
