Giants fans had the clear majority, but our Jets, Bills, and Patriots fans held their own and kept the rivalry friendly. No matter who wins on Sunday, come Monday morning we’re all back to powering New York as one FSG team.

October is National Energy Awareness Month, and we want to highlight one of the most important parts of the conversation: energy efficiency.

We asked people across FSG why energy efficiency matters. Their answers covered everything from lowering utility costs and reducing waste to protecting natural resources and easing strain on the power grid.

At its core, energy efficiency is about getting more out of the energy we use. It's good for businesses, good for communities, and good for the environment.

147 years ago today, Thomas Edison successfully tested a practical incandescent light bulb. It only burned for around 13 hours.

Today, an LED lamp can last over 25,000 hours. We've come a long way.

On the anniversary of Edison's historic test, we're celebrating the innovation, persistence, and people who helped change the way the world lives and works.

Here's to 147 years of bright ideas and to everyone in the lighting industry who's keeping them coming. 💡

October is Clergy Appreciation Month, and we want to pause and say, "Thank you," to the people who hold our communities together.

Clergy and faith leaders show up in every season. They teach us, celebrate with us, sit with us in loss, and carry the weight of our burdens, often long after the weekly service ends.

We’re honored to work alongside houses of worship across the country, helping care for the spaces where people gather. But it’s the leaders inside those walls who make them feel like home.

To the clergy who serve our communities and us so faithfully: thank you for your dedication, your compassion, and your willingness to care for others.

Meet Robert Cassidy, Senior Project Manager with FSG New Jersey.

He came to FSG 10 years ago as a foreman and later moved into the office as a project manager. Before joining us, he spent 12 years at a small electrical company, where he completed his apprenticeship and grew into a foreman.

His days are all about supporting the crews in the field: submittals, RFIs, getting material ordered and organized, and making sure every job has what it needs to run smoothly.

His current favorite project is the BrightView Brick job, the biggest project of his career. “It’s really cool to see the progress, and I’m proud to be a part of it.”

Off the clock, Robert is a skilled archer who shoots a few days a week. He dreams of owning a cabin on a big piece of land in upstate New York, and Alaska is his top pick for a trip.

His advice for anyone thinking about the trade: “The electrical trade isn't going anywhere. There’s a lot of room for growth here, and we really take care of our guys.”

Thanks for a decade of great work, Robert!

“It makes you feel like you belong.” That’s how FSG Instructional Designer Joaquin Rivera describes the importance of recognizing Hispanic Heritage Month in the workplace.

Joaquin’s roots trace back to San Luis Potosí, Mexico, where his heritage shaped his values of hard work, family, and pride in what he does. In a recent conversation, he shared what his Hispanic heritage means to him and why feeling recognized, valued, and having opportunities to grow matter so much.

As Hispanic Heritage Month comes to a close, we celebrate the cultures, experiences, and contributions of our Hispanic team members across FSG. Their dedication and talents help shape who we are as a company, not just this month, but every day.

Did you know FSG has our own trade school?

The skilled trades need more people, and Propel Career Academy is how FSG is helping build that pipeline at locations across the nation. We're proud to announce we just graduated our latest welding cohort in San Antonio!

Over the last 10 months, these students spent hands-on time in the welding lab, working through NCCER Core and Welding Levels 1 through 4. They became family in the process, even taking time to get some "family photos" taken at JCPenney to commemorate their time together.

They leave us with industry-recognized credentials and the skills to step right into the workforce. Two of these graduates started new jobs immediately upon graduation, and the rest are already testing and interviewing with employers across the area.
