Before and after from a chimney restoration project where water was making its way through the masonry. We grinded out the all the joints and packed them with new mortar to help protect against water intrusion while also creating a more consistent color match.

The 50-year-old brick was also treated with a clear water-resistant sealer, and we had a custom metal cap made for the crown to help protect the chimney moving forward.

On this project, we built limestone columns and scratched the joints back slightly to accentuate the natural shape and character of the stone. The columns are now ready for the lamps to be installed, which will finish off the entry beautifully.

I don’t have before photos from this project, but this was a great restoration job on a 100-year-old church. The mortar joints had deteriorated over time, and the retaining wall capstones needed attention, so we were able to come in and help restore the masonry while keeping the character of the building intact.
