Fyoog We have a passion for public space, particularly, the interstitial areas between public and private space.

Architecture is an art form that not only has an obligation to provide functionality and sustainable viability, but also has the inherent responsibility to delight. As a consequence, the successful delivery of this modern architectural vision involves the strategic balance and interweaving of multiple disciplines. Fyoog specializes in bringing art, science, and other influences together through a

process of discovery, transformation, and creation. While most of our work is based in the urban realm, there are no limitations on either cost, size, or project location for us to consider. We pursue projects that align with our passions in Architecture, Planning, and Art.

"We are celebrating the one-year anniversary of FYOOG joining IA interior architects, which was both a pivotal moment in our company's history and also an enormous growth opportunity," says Fyoog Founder and Principal Architect Dan Cheetham. "My mission has been to combine the built environment with the arts to create beautiful spaces that capture the attention and imagination of viewers. As a result of IA being a global and award-winning interior design and architecture firm, we have found a partner to collaborate with on our now shared mission, and we are looking forward to our future projects together."

To expedite the two-day installation process for 𝘼π™ͺπ™§π™€π™§π™–π™š, individual rows of the sculpture were pre-assembled and cataloged before being brought on site. The crew took COVID daily tests prior to site arrival and always wore masks. To hang the massive work, the fabricators and installers at Austin Architectural preassembled the entire metal support structure in their shop. Using a boom lift, the pre-fab structure was brought onsite and hoisted up to the ceiling, leveled, and populated with the long colorful strands. By combining ingenuity and foresight, FYOOG's artists overcame this complex design challenge, and 𝘼π™ͺπ™§π™€π™§π™–π™š now welcomes visitors and employees daily to the City of Austin Permitting and Development Center.

The 𝘼π™ͺπ™§π™€π™§π™–π™š sculpture delicately floats above the main lobby of the City of Austin Permitting and Development Center. The onslaught of pandemic restrictions mid-schedule meant the designers at FYOOG had to adapt their process to meet the project deadline quickly. "Our quick-thinking ability to adapt to unforeseen circumstances was key during this project," says Harvison, a Senior Designer at FYOOG. "For example, we set up fabrication stations in our office and homes to maintain safety protocols throughout the manufacturing phase of 𝘼π™ͺπ™§π™€π™§π™–π™š." Making sure that no two employees were in the office at one time, the whole sculpture was pre-assembled and sorted before its installation in the City of Austin's Permitting and Development Center.

IA’s London Studio at Harella House hosted an event as part of the London Design Festival on Tuesday featuring FYOOG’s β€œHanging by a Thread” installation created as part of the celebration of design and promotion of London's creativity. As a nod to Harella House, which housed one of the most prolific textile exporters in the UK during the 20th century, commonplace materials create a simple yet dramatic sculpture by knitting colored h**p twine within the roof trusses. The individual strands are β€œsewn” around modified closet standards attached to the outer edges of the truss cords and woven in tension back and forth to create floating planes of color and geometric complexity.

The Triangle Plaza building in Chicago is home to two new artworks by FYOOG. Named π˜“π˜’π˜¬π˜¦ 𝘌𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘀𝘡 𝘌𝘒𝘴𝘡 and π˜“π˜’π˜¬π˜¦ 𝘌𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘀𝘡 𝘞𝘦𝘴𝘡, the pieces hang independently in each of the building’s two mirrored lobbies.

As the names suggest, the pieces take inspiration from Lake Michigan's direct connection as it abuts the city of Chicago. The colors and patterns evoke imagery of the contrast of land, water, and sky, and the 3D effect registers the artwork's depth as if looking from a bird's eye perspective over the city and landscape.

Take a look under the hood, the centerpiece sculpture wasn’t the only change FyoogDesign made at 901 New York Avenue in Washington, DC. A rework of the lighting, finishes, stairs, and pavement stones set the stage for this project’s star attraction suspended from the ceiling.

Move over Dorothy, FYOOG has put a rainbow of color β€œway up high” in the City of Austin Permitting and Development Center. Called Aurorae, the Northern Lights inspired artwork shimmers and shifts its colors according to the viewer's perspective and varying light conditions.

We collaborated with IA to look at industry trends that may signal a shift in how the industry defines Class A property.

β€œWe’re making sure that we take a more integrated approachβ€”there’s a common thread in the amenities, and they’re being prioritized on the floor plate as compared to what we’ve seen in the past.” - Jim Camp, Project Director, IA Interior Architects

Renewed interest in the hub and spoke workplace model could signal a change in the industry definition of Class A Property.
