Thanks for having me on the podcast Ride iQ :)
It was fun!

Last week, we welcomed Clay Nelson of Sustainable Stables, LLC onto our Ask an Expert Livestream to discuss everything that goes into designing farms and equine facilities. How can you improve your farm? What should you watch out for when you're purchasing an equestrian property? Clay had answers for us.

✅ Hiring an equine facility designer before buying a property can help you avoid soil or layout-related hazards later on.

✅ Soil is graded on a scale from A to D, with A being desert-like (doesn’t hold water) and D being super damp/wet/prone to flooding. You want your soil somewhere in the middle-- a B or C.

✅ Clay recommends every farm has all weather turnouts in addition to pastures. This will help farm owners preserve their grass.

Listen to the full conversation with Clay on the Ride iQ app today!

Want to get the info fresh from our experts? Ride iQ members can join us on April 22nd at 5 p.m. in the private Facebook group for another Ask an Expert Livestream. We're going to sit down with Kyle and Jennifer Carter to preview the Super Bowl of eventing-- the Kentucky Three Day Event.

Stable Supply Customer Testimonial Time - "We received 3.5 inches of rain since we installed the Mud Grids on Monday. It’s a muddy mess in the cow area, but where we installed the Grids it gives the cows a safe place and no fear of sinking in the mud. They really are unbelievable." - Becky | DBranch Ranch, California

We couldn’t agree more! Allowing safe, healthy and natural interaction among the herd(s) is always a guiding principal of our site plans and barn designs!

Do you want your horse to be happy, relaxed and ready for your next ride?
For your horse to feel his best, he needs time with other horses when you can’t be around.
Horses need the herd. They are social animals, and in natural settings, they only exist in a herd—horses are never alone for long in the wild.
They depend on the herd for social stimulation as well as a sense of security.
