❄️ Winter Electrical Tip ❄️
1. Protect Your Electrical Panel
Make sure your electrical panel is dry and accessible.
If it’s outdoors, check that seals and covers are intact.
2. Don’t Overload Circuits
Space heaters pull a lot of power.
• Plug directly into the wall
• Avoid extension cords
• One heater per outlet
3. Prepare for Power Outages
• Keep flashlights ready
• Charge phones and battery packs
• Know where your main breaker is
4. Generators = Safety First
• Never run generators indoors or in garages
• Keep them outside and away from windows
• Use proper extension cords rated for outdoor use
5. Watch for Warning Signs
Call an electrician if you notice:
• Flickering lights
• Burning smells
• Warm outlets or panels
These issues can get worse in extreme cold.

📍 Local Note
Austin freezes are rare — but when they hit,
electrical systems work harder than usual.
