An Agave ferox in its final act.

Monocarpic, it spends years building toward a single bloom—sending up a towering stalk fueled by everything it’s stored.

If unpollinated, it creates bulbils—small plantlets that fall and root in place.

You might spy one on a neighborhood walk around Austin.
