JOBE CORRAL ARCHITECTS is a women-owned architecture firm founded by Camille Urban Jobe, AIA, and Ada I. Corral, AIA. We strive to create beautiful, well crafted spaces that are sensitive to the specific needs of each project. Through our practice, we explore and exalt ways in which people leave traces in the buildings they occupy. The thoughtful consideration of individual moments and experiences

of daily life is a theme in our design that brings a warmth and texture to our projects. We work with the knowledge that a great project springs from a deep understanding of the site, a respectful and transparent relationship with our clients, and a full comprehension of the program. Paying close attention to these factors informs our process and allows us to create a unique concept and spirit for every project. We strongly believe in finding opportunities to engage and enhance the built environment and our community, both through architecture and community service.

We asked our designer Grace which project she’s been most drawn to lately, and here’s what she shared....

“Adagio! I love how intentional everything feels. The ceramics on the exterior wall do more than provide decoration—they help connect the home to its site and bring the light well into the conversation with the rest of the house. To me, they look like barnacles, which feels especially fitting within the coastal landscape.

The project feels deeply tied to its site in a really honest way. Inside, there’s that same level of care, and all of the materials work beautifully together. The more time you spend in the space, the more you realize how much thought went into every detail.”

The sculptural installation within the Adagio House lightwell draws inspiration from the Pacific coast of Carmel-by-the-Sea. Created by ceramicist Jennifer Prichard, the ceramic forms echo the barnacles found along nearby rocks and ships, bringing an organic, living quality into the home.
