DO NOT NEGLECT YOUR POOL FILTER!

Your pool filter plays a crucial role in maintaining a clean pool. As water circulates through the system, the filter traps debris, oils, dirt, and contaminants that would otherwise float in your water or sink and build up on surfaces. When the filter is clean, water flows freely, the pump runs efficiently, and your pool stays clear. When it’s dirty or clogged, your entire system starts to suffer. Here’s what can happen:
– Cloudy or dirty water: A clogged filter can’t keep up with debris and contaminants.
– Algae growth: Poor filtration means less water movement, an ideal environment for algae.
– Increased strain on equipment: Your pump has to work harder, which can lead to breakdowns or higher energy costs.
– Poor chemical effectiveness: Even the best water chemistry won’t work well if circulation is compromised.

A few before and after filter cleans we have done this week 🏊‍♀️

Freezing temperatures are coming!!!

Make sure your pool pumps are running continuously. It is very important that your equipment is running at all times. Many pumps have a built-in freeze guard that will automatically kick into action once the outside air reaches a certain temperature. It’s important to remember that you don’t need to run your heater to prevent your pool water from freezing. Maintaining proper pool water levels are crucial during the cooler months of the year. By keeping your water at the middle of the tile line, you’re preventing your pumps from drawing air in through the skimmers.

If you are at all concerned about pool pumps not engaging for freezing temperatures you can run your pool on a 24 hour schedule just to be safe.

IF YOU LOSE POWER:
If you experience a loss of power, turn off all circuit breakers leading to your pool equipment. Remove drain plugs from ALL your pool equipment.
ONCE THE WARM WEATHER RETURNS Make sure your pool’s water level is at the middle of the tile line. Reinstall all plugs and lids. You may need to add water to pump pot to help prime pump. Turn your circuit breakers back on.
