With the impending sub freezing temperatures coming at the end of this week you should take a few precautions to protect your home from frozen pipes.

1.) Wrap all exterior plumbing. Insulated sleeves like those used on Freon lines for your AC do well. But be sure to add some additional wrap with old towels. You can’t over insulate them.

2.) Have you interior faucets set to a steady drip or low flow. Keeping the water moving through your system will decrease the likelihood of the water freezing.

3.) Keep your heater on. Setting at a slightly higher than normal temperature will keep it from shutting off as much and keep a consistent influx of warmer air rising into the attic.

4.) In event of power failure it is not good to use your stove to heat the home. If you have a fireplace call a chimney sweep to have your flue cleaned and dampers checked as soon as possible.

Before and after pictures. Throughout the home we patched drywall, painted walls trim and doors, painted cabinets, custom built cabinet doors and drawers, replaced counters with quartz, replaced plugs and switches as well as covers. In the kitchen we replaced recessed fluorescent lights with recessed can lights and added a backsplash.
