Meet the Family Behind Williams Paving Inc.

Williams Paving has always been more than asphalt, equipment, and job sites. It’s a family business built on hard work, relationships, and a commitment to doing things the right way.

Founded by Durwood and Gloria Williams in 2001, the company started with little more than a bucket, a brush, and a few small sealcoating jobs. What it lacked in size, it made up for in grit, determination, and a willingness to outwork the competition.

There were no shortcuts and no overnight success. Just long days, sacrifice, dedication, and the belief that if you took care of your customers, stood behind your work, and kept showing up, bigger opportunities would follow.

And they did.

Year after year, Williams Paving continued to grow. Small sealcoating jobs turned into larger paving projects, the company expanded its services and workforce, and eventually grew into multiple paving crews capable of handling major commercial, industrial, municipal, and roadway projects.

As the business grew, the next generation joined the company and helped carry that momentum forward. Nick Williams came on board in 2012 after earning his degree in Construction Management from East Carolina University. Tony Williams followed in 2016, also an ECU graduate, with a background in Construction Management and Business.

Together, the Williams family has continued building on the foundation Durwood and Gloria started more than 25 years ago—growing the company’s capabilities and reach while holding onto the same values that got it started in the first place: quality work, integrity, accountability, hard work, and taking care of the people who trust us with their projects.

Today, Williams Paving works alongside general contractors, developers, property managers, municipalities, and private owners throughout North Carolina, providing commercial and industrial asphalt paving, milling, repairs, pavement maintenance, and striping services.

We’re proud of how far the company has come, but even more proud of how it got here.

From a bucket and a brush to multiple paving crews working across North Carolina, every step of the way has been earned through hard work, dedication, and a refusal to forget where it all started.
